About the role
The Dental Assistant II provides essential support to the Faculty of Dentistry’s clinical operations. Working in a fast‑paced environment, you will assist dental students chairside, manage instrument sterilization, and ensure the clinic runs smoothly.
Key responsibilities
- Disinfect and sterilize dental instruments and supplies in the dispensary.
- Dispense materials to students and prepare for clinical demonstrations.
- Maintain cleanliness of cubicles, dispensaries, and lab areas.
- Perform four‑handed dentistry, especially with pediatric patients.
- Complete the orthodontic module offered by UBC Continuing Dental Education.
- Support the clinic and Central Sterilization area when graduate clinics are not in session.
Required profile
- IV sedation certification (or willingness to obtain CDAAC sedation certificate).
- Completion of the orthodontic module.
- Ability to use active restraint for children when necessary.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

- Panoramic and cephalometric X‑ray acquisition and processing.
