Deckhand – Day/Night Shift

About the role

We are seeking a Deckhand to join our Safety and Security Vessel operating on day and night shifts in Kitimat, BC. The role involves ensuring the safety of life, the vessel, and preventing marine pollution while adhering to company health and safety policies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform lookout duties as assigned by the vessel Captain.
• Conduct safety and security rounds.
• Ensure passenger safety during embarkation, disembarkation, and underway operations.
• Assist with loading and unloading equipment and cargo on‑shore and off‑shore.
• Support tanker line handling and LNG transfer safety and security tasks.
• Monitor and record cargo transfers.
• Complete inventory counts and report to the Captain.
• Carry out deck duties, safety checks, engine checks, vessel husbandry, and interior/exterior cleaning and sanitation.

Required profile

• Relevant marine experience (preferred).
• MED‑DVS Radio Operator Certificate – Marine (ROC‑M).
• Marine Basic or Advanced First Aid (MBFA/MAFA).
• Valid Marine Medical Certificate (MMC).
• Excellent written and verbal English proficiency.
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.
• Bridge Watch rating (asset).
• OFA Level 3 (asset).

Required skills

• MED‑DVS Radio Operator Certificate – Marine (ROC‑M).
• Marine Basic or Advanced First Aid certification.
• Marine Medical Certificate.
• Bridge Watch rating.
• OFA Level 3.

What we offer
