Data Scientist – Machine Learning & Generative AI

About the role

Affinity is looking for two experienced Data Scientists to design, prototype, and ship machine‑learning, generative‑AI, and LLM‑powered applications. You will work closely with the Business Intelligence Director, data analysts, and engineering teams to turn both structured and unstructured data into measurable business impact.

Key responsibilities

• Build, design, and prototype ML models, AI‑driven tools, and analytical solutions for classification, prediction, segmentation, automation, and more.
• Develop AI applications that convert unstructured data (e.g., call transcripts, documents) into reliable, structured insights.
• Use agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, OpenAI Agents SDK, or Claude Agent SDK to create multi‑step planning, tool integration, context‑window engineering, and safety guardrails.
• Translate ambiguous business questions into working proofs‑of‑concept using ML, generative AI, and LLM techniques.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to deploy models to production, monitor performance, and optimize outcomes.
• Extend existing analyses, create dashboards, and communicate findings to non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering data‑science models and AI solutions to production.
• Strong Python expertise with hands‑on experience in LLM‑powered applications, prompt engineering, and evaluation frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to generate material business impact from data‑driven projects.
• Comfort with ambiguous problems and a passion for turning them into AI prototypes.
