Data Scientist II

About the role

The Security Solutions Data Science team at Mastercard is looking for a Data Scientist II to help build AI and ML models that protect digital transactions. You will work on end‑to‑end data‑science pipelines, from data extraction and feature engineering to model validation, deployment, and monitoring, focusing on merchant risk during onboarding and ongoing monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze large‑scale transaction, merchant and related entity data to uncover patterns, trends and anomalies.
• Support research and development of a merchant registry and profiling capability to strengthen risk assessment.
• Contribute to feature engineering, entity resolution and analytical workflows that improve merchant‑level intelligence.
• Prototype and evaluate machine‑learning and analytical solutions for merchant risk.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to industrialise data‑science capabilities for scalable production use.

Required profile

• Experience designing and implementing AI/ML models for large‑scale data environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work on complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
• Proven ability to develop end‑to‑end data‑science pipelines, including data extraction, feature engineering, model validation and monitoring.
• Comfortable working with modern big‑data platforms and technologies in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
