Data Center Technician – L1, L2 & L3 (Mackenzie, BC)

About the role

The Data Center Technician team supports the rapid build‑out of a large‑scale GPU data centre in Mackenzie, BC. Positions are available at three skill levels – entry (L1), intermediate (L2) and senior (L3) – each working within a pod under a Network Technician lead.

Key responsibilities

• Perform rack‑and‑stack operations, including equipment placement and cable tray work.
• Prepare, pre‑bundle, label and dress fiber‑optic and structured‑cabling according to build plans.
• Execute patch‑panel organization and follow rack elevation diagrams.
• Maintain client standards, site safety protocols and documentation throughout the shift.
• L3 technicians act as pod captains, providing technical direction and first‑level escalation for L1 staff.
• L2 technicians support the pod captain and work alongside L1 installers.

Required profile

• Up to 3 + years experience in data‑center, telecom, IT infrastructure or structured‑cabling environments.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions quickly in a high‑volume deployment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and process adherence.
• Physical capability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lb and work overhead.
• Willingness to work 6‑7 day weeks on‑site with optional overtime.

Required skills

• Fiber‑optic handling and structured‑cabling installation.
• Rack‑and‑stack operations and cable‑tray installation.
• Patch‑panel organization and reading rack elevation diagrams.
• Basic understanding of data‑center physical infrastructure (rack units, cabling standards).
