Data Center Deployment Technician (L1)

About the role

The Data Center Deployment Technician (L1) supports the physical build‑out of a large‑scale GPU data centre in Mackenzie, BC. Working within an assigned pod under the guidance of a senior Network Technician, you will perform rack‑and‑stack, cabling and site execution tasks in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform rack‑and‑stack operations, including installing servers, networking equipment and patch panels.
• Prepare, pre‑bundle, route and label fiber optic and structured cabling according to build plans.
• Install and organize cable trays, trays work and ensure proper cable dressing.
• Follow rack elevation diagrams and written or verbal instructions to meet deployment schedules.
• Collaborate with pod members and report progress to the supervising Network Technician.

Required profile

• Up to 3 years experience in data centre, telecom, IT infrastructure or structured cabling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a pod in a physically demanding environment.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lb and perform overhead work for extended shifts.
• Valid passport and willingness to travel to and remain on‑site for the full engagement.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with fiber optic and structured cabling.
• Knowledge of rack‑and‑stack procedures, cable trays and patch panel organization.
• Familiarity with cabling standards and single‑mode fiber, MPO/MTP connectors.
• Basic understanding of data centre physical infrastructure (rack units, elevation diagrams).
