Data Analyst – Transit Operations

About the role

The City of Guelph is seeking a Data Analyst to support its Transit department. Working in a hybrid environment, you will help translate transit data into actionable insights that guide operational and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, develop, and enhance transit performance dashboards and reports.
• Extract, transform, analyze, and integrate data from scheduling, fare, operational, ERP, AVL, APC, and GIS systems.
• Deliver ad‑hoc analysis and reporting for monitoring, planning, and decision‑making.
• Gather business requirements and design sustainable reporting solutions.
• Develop, test, implement, and support data solutions based on functional needs.
• Collaborate with business units and technical staff to identify data needs and troubleshoot issues.
• Support software updates and deployments in line with change‑management processes.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate business needs into data solutions.
• Experience working in a public‑service or transit environment is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.

Required skills

• PowerBI for dashboard creation and reporting.
• Data cleansing and transformation techniques.
