Cybersecurity Intern

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Intern to join our client’s remote security team. This position offers hands‑on experience in threat detection, risk mitigation, and security operations while supporting a variety of security initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts and incidents.
• Support vulnerability assessments and penetration‑testing activities.
• Identify and help mitigate security risks and threats.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining security controls and policies.
• Analyze logs from systems, networks, and applications for suspicious activity.
• Participate in incident response and documentation.
• Research emerging cybersecurity threats and trends.
• Support compliance and audit‑related security tasks.

Required profile

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of network security concepts such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
• Knowledge of security principles (CIA triad, authentication, encryption) and web security basics (OWASP Top 10).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work remotely and align with Canadian overlapping hours.
