Cybersecurity Architect – Azure & VMware Cloud Specialist

About the role

Our client seeks a Cyber Security Domain Architect to lead advisory services across Azure Cloud, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), and Microsoft Defender. You will shape security strategy, define roadmaps, and ensure robust protection for hybrid and on‑premises environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage multi‑year security domain roadmaps aligned with enterprise strategy.
• Evaluate existing security architectures, recommend improvements, and define reference architectures.
• Provide architectural leadership for Azure and VCF environments, establishing design principles and guardrails.
• Drive adoption of Zero Trust, defense‑in‑depth, and modern security practices.
• Guide implementation of Microsoft Defender capabilities, including threat protection and posture management.
• Conduct current‑state assessments, define target‑state models, and perform gap analysis.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure alignment.
• Advise stakeholders on risks, mitigation strategies, and architectural alternatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in security architecture or enterprise cybersecurity.
• Relevant certifications such as Azure Security Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CISSP or CISM.

Required skills

• Azure security architecture, including Entra ID (Identity & Access Management) and Azure‑native security controls.
• Cloud governance, policy enforcement, and hybrid cloud design principles.
• VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and VMware‑based virtualization security.
• Network segmentation, micro‑segmentation, and workload security concepts.
• Microsoft Defender threat protection and posture management.
• Zero Trust and defense‑in‑depth security strategies.
