About the role
The Cyber Security Advisor will strengthen the enterprise cybersecurity posture of a Canadian organization by applying risk‑based frameworks, governance practices, and hands‑on advisory across complex digital environments. Working in a collaborative, distributed setting, the advisor will partner with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to assess risks, implement controls, and guide strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead cybersecurity implementation activities, including stakeholder meetings, workshops, documentation, and communication of security requirements.
- Support procurement by defining security requirements, evaluating solutions, and contributing to RFI/RFP documentation and vendor selection.
- Develop, maintain, and update cybersecurity documentation, control frameworks, and risk mitigation materials.
- Act as an internal cybersecurity consultant, providing guidance, mentoring, and advisory support to project teams and business stakeholders.
- Define cybersecurity KPIs, monitor performance metrics, and report on risk posture and control effectiveness.
- Conduct and oversee risk assessments for applications, infrastructure, third‑party, and technical risks.
- Monitor risk mitigation progress, identify deviations, and report issues to governance bodies and leadership.
- Support audit readiness activities and coordinate resolution of audit findings.
- Deliver cybersecurity awareness, training materials, and ongoing education programs for internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across healthcare and enterprise environments to ensure alignment with standards and frameworks.
Required profile
- Senior cybersecurity professional with strong expertise in risk management, security architecture, and enterprise frameworks.
- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in complex and regulated environments, preferably healthcare.
- Excellent communication and governance expertise.
