Crossing Guard – Part‑time (2 positions)

About the role
The City of Woodstock is seeking two part‑time Crossing Guards to ensure the safety of children at designated street crossings. This entry‑level position works during school hours and offers a supportive municipal environment.
Key responsibilities
- Arrive at assigned crossing at scheduled times and remain on‑site for the entire shift.
- Wear a reflective safety vest and operate a hand‑held stop sign.
- Hold the stop sign while extending the opposite arm to guide children safely across the street.
- Ensure all vehicles stop in accordance with traffic regulations while children cross.
- Maintain a courteous and vigilant presence to protect pedestrians.
Required profile
- Entry‑level, reliable, and able to work part‑time hours during school days.
- Physically capable of holding a stop sign and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and a friendly, community‑focused attitude.
