Course Lecturer – Computational Aerodynamics (Winter 2027)

About the role

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer for the Winter 2027 term to teach MECH 539 – Computational Aerodynamics (3 credits). The instructor will deliver lectures, lead tutorials, and assess student performance according to the official course outline.

Key responsibilities

• Cover all material listed in the course outline, including fundamental equations, flow singularities, and numerical methods.
• Prepare lecture notes, tutorial exercises, and assessment materials.
• Deliver lectures on scheduled days (Wednesday and Friday 11:35 am – 12:55 pm) and hold regular office hours.
• Grade assignments, exams, and provide feedback to students.

Required profile

• Minimum Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• At least five years of experience in analysis and/or design of control systems.
• Prior teaching experience at the university level.
• Familiarity with aircraft dynamics and control.
• Demonstrated proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
