About the role
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer for the Fall 2026 term to teach MECH 632 – Advanced Mechanics of Materials. The appointment runs from August 31 to December 18, 2026, with classes scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:35 pm‑3:55 pm in ENGTR 2100.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lectures and tutorials covering advanced mechanics of materials concepts.
- Prepare course materials, assignments, and assessments.
- Evaluate student performance through exams, projects, and participation.
- Maintain regular office hours to support student learning.
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure alignment with curriculum standards.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum three years of teaching experience or relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural academic environment.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and a flexible teaching approach.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of advanced mechanics of materials.
