Corporate Controller – Global Finance Leader

About the role

Solar Panda, a fast‑growing clean‑tech company, is looking for an experienced Corporate Controller to lead its global corporate accounting function. Based in the Greater Toronto Area, you will partner closely with the CFO and support the company’s expansion across Canada and five African subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle accounting for the Canadian parent, managing the general ledger, month‑end and year‑end close.
• Conduct monthly P&L reviews for all subsidiaries, analysing variances and providing actionable insights.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, including currency translation, foreign‑exchange adjustments, and elimination entries.
• Coordinate cross‑border tax matters with external advisors, covering withholding tax and transfer‑pricing issues.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, aligning audit work across international components.
• Develop and maintain working paper documentation to support audit and reporting processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in a multinational environment.
• University or college degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Strong command of IFRS and cross‑border tax regulations.
• Proven ability to build disciplined, decision‑ready financial processes.
• Excellent analytical judgment and comfort working across time zones.
