Coordinator, Global Logistics

About the role

The Global Logistics Coordinator supports WestJet’s internal guests by managing outbound shipments for corporate and technical needs. Reporting to the Supply Chain Team Lead, the role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient movement of goods while upholding WestJet’s high standards of service.

Key responsibilities

• Package, label and process shipments on the WestJet hanger floor using small‑package carriers, air cargo, or truck services.
• Prepare customs documentation and follow customs procedures for international deliveries.
• Pack and ship dangerous goods in accordance with safety regulations.
• Arrange air, truck and ocean shipments, generate invoices and bills of lading, and perform light track‑and‑trace duties.
• Analyze shipping routes to select the most cost‑effective and timely options.
• Maintain stock of courier‑specific shipping materials and ensure compliance with IATA, TDG and WHMIS policies.
• Coordinate courier deliveries with internal drivers or external vendors and assess received goods for hazards.
• Support mailroom operations, sort and deliver mail and parcels to internal departments.
• Assist on special projects and deliver parts and materials safely, adhering to road and ramp rules.
• Provide exceptional internal customer service to Logistics’ guests.

• Strong work ethic with a commitment to safety and compliance.
• Willingness to perform physical activity (50‑70% of the role) and work Monday‑Friday daytime hours.

Required skills

• Customs documentation and procedures knowledge.
• Dangerous goods handling expertise.
• Familiarity with IATA, TDG and WHMIS regulations.
• Air, truck and ocean freight coordination experience.
• Route analysis for cost and delivery time optimization.
• Packaging, labeling and shipment processing proficiency.
• Basic record‑keeping for invoices and bills of lading.
