Co‑op Researcher – Physical AI

About the role

We are looking for a Co‑op Researcher to join Huawei Canada’s Noah’s Ark Laboratory and contribute to embodied Physical AI projects. The role involves implementing and deploying algorithms for cutting‑edge models, collaborating with senior researchers, and producing technical and insight reports on emerging machine‑learning topics.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the embodied AI research project and explore novel Physical AI approaches.
• Implement, train, and evaluate algorithms for proposed models and applications.
• Deploy validated algorithms into internal Huawei products.
• Collaborate closely with researchers and engineering teams.
• Stay current on selected machine‑learning areas and author insight and technical reports.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the third year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of Deep Learning concepts such as training, regularization and generalization.
• Proficient in Python programming and experienced with PyTorch.
• Experience with training or inference using Large Language Models is a plus.
• Knowledge or experience in robotics is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be registered in a co‑op program for the full work term.

What we offer

• Annual compensation ranging from $58,000 to $104,000 (CAD) based on education and experience.
