About the role
We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our restaurant at Malahat Chalet. The role involves preparing and cooking meals, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring high standards of food safety and quality.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate special events and menu planning.
- Determine portion sizes, costs and estimate food requirements.
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
- Prepare and cook complete meals, individual dishes and accommodate food allergies.
- Inspect kitchen and food service areas for safety and cleanliness.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
- Maintain inventory, records of food, supplies and equipment.
- Order supplies and equipment, and ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with front‑of‑house staff to ensure timely service.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
