Controller – Finance Leader for Golf Resort

About the role

The organization is a premier golf and resort destination in Ontario seeking a Controller to join its Finance team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will ensure accurate financial reporting, support month‑end close, and provide insights that drive strategic growth in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and supervise accounting staff.
• Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts and variance analysis across all departments.
• Manage cash flow, treasury activities and working‑capital requirements.
• Oversee tax compliance, including corporate, HST and payroll taxes.
• Conduct daily revenue auditing and reconciliation for retail, food & beverage, hospitality and other streams.
• Develop and monitor internal controls, inventory audits and accounts payable/receivable processes.
• Partner with operations, events, property management and other leaders to create dashboards, KPIs and financial reporting tools.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, support pricing strategies and drive revenue‑enhancement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management or related field.
• CPA, CMA or equivalent designation preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory responsibility.
• Experience in hospitality, resort, hotel, golf or recreation industries is an asset.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
• Experience with hospitality or property‑management software.
