Construction Worker (Onsite)

About the role

The employer is seeking an experienced construction worker to join an on‑site team focused on green building projects. The role involves hands‑on construction tasks, supporting the delivery of environmentally‑responsible structures while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Load, unload and transport construction materials
• Read blueprints to determine work requirements
• Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades
• Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs
• Level earth to fine‑grade specifications
• Perform routine maintenance work
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
• Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of on‑site construction experience
• Secondary school graduation certificate
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Willingness to work onsite with no remote option
• Commitment to green building practices

Required skills

• Blueprint reading
• Concrete formwork erection and dismantling
• Scaffolding, shoring and barricade installation
• Carpentry – measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling wood and lightweight steel
• Installation of windows, doors, stairs and hardware
• Operation of construction machinery and equipment
