Construction Superintendent

About the role

Pioneer Construction is seeking a Civil Construction Superintendent to lead daily field operations on civil projects in the Kenora area. This hands‑on position coordinates crews, manages site activities and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently and to project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of civil construction projects from start to finish, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
• Lead, train, recruit, hire and supervise the on‑site workforce.
• Serve as primary liaison between the Project Manager, Site Foreman and clients, attending meetings and providing progress updates.
• Resolve day‑to‑day site issues and anticipate future challenges related to schedule, materials and methods.
• Maintain accurate daily diaries, timesheets, inspections and work orders.
• Prepare progress payment documentation and schedule updates each month.
• Enforce health and safety policies, wear required PPE and work in all weather conditions.
• Travel to job sites across Northern Ontario, including occasional overnight stays.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction technology, laboratory technology or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in the civil construction industry.
• Previous leadership or managerial experience.
• Valid G class driver’s licence.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
