Construction Superintendent – Industrial Piping

About the role

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead piping activities for a major industrial client in Calgary. You will be the on‑site champion of safety, quality, and schedule performance, guiding crews, subcontractors, and trades from planning through turnover.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure work complies with approved plans, specifications, building codes and industry standards.
• Maintain site safety exceeding corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Update and monitor construction schedules, meeting milestones and completion dates.
• Oversee vehicle and equipment usage, plan equipment needs and keep equipment logs current.
• Review sub‑trade invoices against purchase orders and report discrepancies.
• Hire, manage and approve hourly staff time‑cards for accurate job costing.
• Prepare field change orders and coordinate RFIs with engineers.
• Develop three‑week look‑ahead schedules aligned with the overall project plan.

Required profile

• 3–8 years of construction supervision experience, including at least 4 years in a superintendent or similar role.
• Relevant trade certification or education combined with hands‑on experience.
• Proven ability to solve complex field problems and drive continuous improvement.
