Construction Site Supervisor

About the role

Black & McDonald’s Ottawa team is expanding and seeks a dynamic Construction Site Supervisor to lead on‑site activities. You will oversee construction projects, ensure safety and quality, and support a high‑performing workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all site activities, ensuring work is safe, efficient, and meets project specifications.
• Monitor productivity and provide daily reports to Project Managers.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including progress reports, schedules, site records, and as‑built drawings.
• Assist with project scheduling and updates.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and suppliers.
• Conduct safety orientations and regular inspections, addressing any deficiencies.
• Communicate safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop professional relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to resolve site‑related issues.
• Participate in construction and coordination meetings with owners and stakeholders.
• Support planning, execution, and close‑out activities as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and productive worksite.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Experience in civil/structural, plumbing, or electrical trades preferred.
• College degree, trade qualification, or equivalent field experience.
