Construction Manager – Site Operations & Subcontractor Coordination

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead on‑site activities, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role requires hands‑on leadership in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors and monitor performance.
• Evaluate and plan daily operations, preparing construction schedules and milestones.
• Prepare and submit project budget estimates and track expenditures.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and subcontractors.
• Negotiate contracts, manage revisions, and enforce contractual agreements.
• Develop and implement quality‑control policies and risk‑management plans.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics.
• Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and land acquisitions.
• Prepare progress reports and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Required profile

• College or CEGEP education in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management or a similar role.
• Experience supervising 5‑10 personnel, including cabinetmakers.
• Valid driver’s licence, own vehicle, and willingness to travel to worksites.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
