Construction Labourer – Full-Time

About the role

The Labourer supports the Construction division by assisting with a wide range of on‑site activities. You will work under the direction of forepersons, pipe layers or heavy‑equipment operators, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Punctuality, proper PPE, and a willingness to learn are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the assigned foreperson, pipe layer, or heavy‑equipment operator and obtain necessary tools.
• Load, unload and move construction materials, erect and dismantle forms, scaffolding, shoring and barricades.
• Mix, pour and spread concrete, asphalt and other materials; assist tradespeople such as carpenters.
• Assist heavy‑equipment operators with attachments, signal movements, and support pipe alignment tasks.
• Perform site clean‑up, remove debris, operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators, tampers, and tend to mixers, compressors and pumps.
• Maintain personal safety and weather gear, follow all health and safety regulations, and complete daily paperwork.

Required profile

• Reliable, trustworthy and able to follow specific instructions.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to work outdoors in all weather, lift up to 50 lb, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Team player with good interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• Minimum age of 16 and physically fit.

Required skills

• Hand tool operation.
• Pneumatic hammer, vibrator and tamper operation.
• Mixer, compressor and pump operation.
• Fuel‑truck fueling and spill‑prevention procedures.
• Basic traffic control and pipe‑alignment assistance.
