Construction Helper

About the role

V4U Homes Ltd is seeking a reliable Construction Helper to join its on‑site team in Winnipeg. You will work outdoors in a fast‑paced environment, assisting skilled tradespeople on a variety of residential projects.

Key responsibilities

• Load, unload and transport construction materials.
• Read blueprints to determine work requirements.
• Mix, pour and spread concrete, asphalt and other building materials.
• Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs.
• Support demolition activities and clean up salvaged materials.
• Perform routine maintenance and clean up chemical spills.
• Feed and tend machines or equipment used on the site.

Required profile

• Physically capable of handling loads up to 45 kg (100 lb) and working in noisy, dusty, confined‑space environments.
• Willingness to travel regularly and hold a valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and perform repetitive tasks.
• Accurate, dependable, flexible, team‑oriented and hardworking.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Mixing and pouring concrete or asphalt.
• Operating construction machinery and hand/power tools.
• Use of personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel‑toed boots, etc.).
