Construction Estimator – Estimating & Cost Management

About the role

We are seeking a Construction Estimator to join our team and support the cost management of commercial, industrial and residential projects. The role involves preparing accurate labour and material estimates, conducting feasibility studies and collaborating with engineers, architects and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates of labour, material and equipment costs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to define work requirements.
• Develop pre‑qualification submissions and present them to clients.
• Conduct economic feasibility studies and preliminary cost assessments for new projects.
• Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bid forms.
• Utilise quantity take‑off procedures and scheduling packages to support estimates.
• Advise on tendering processes, analyse tenders and recommend award decisions.
• Set up cost monitoring systems, track contract expenditures and adjust forecasts as needed.
• Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on cost‑related changes.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in construction estimating (commercial, industrial or residential).
• College or CEGEP education in civil engineering technology or related field.
• Ability to work on‑site in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail, client focus and excellent oral and written communication.
• Organised, proactive team player capable of handling pressure.
