About the role
The General Counsel Office at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP is seeking a Conflicts Administrator to manage the firm’s conflict‑of‑interest searching process. This position plays a critical role in risk management, ensuring compliance with internal policies and professional conduct rules while supporting lawyers, legal assistants, and management.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct conflict of interest searches using Intapp Conflicts and other internal/external databases.
- Develop and apply search parameters across multiple systems to identify potential conflicts, sanctions, or other risk issues.
- Prepare, curate, and interpret conflict reports for review by lawyers.
- Escalate identified issues to the Office of the General Counsel for resolution.
- Establish ethical screens or confidentiality walls when required.
- Respond to internal inquiries regarding conflicts and risk protocols.
- Maintain accurate conflict records in firm systems.
Required profile
- Post‑secondary diploma or equivalent experience in a legal, accounting, or professional services environment.
- 1–3 years of experience in conflicts, intake, or risk management, preferably within the legal industry.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and critical‑thinking abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, especially under pressure.
- Independent worker with sound judgment and problem‑solving skills.
