Concrete Forms Carpenter

About the role

The Concrete Forms Carpenter will work on construction sites in Calgary, reading blueprints and drawings to determine layout requirements. The role involves preparing layouts that meet building codes, measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling a variety of materials to build foundations, floor beams, subflooring, walls and roof systems.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to define work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in compliance with building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 3 to less than 5 years of experience in formwork or similar construction work.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, noisy, dusty and outdoor environments.
• Own transportation, valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
