Computer Technician – IT Support for Mining Operations

About the role

Thyssen Mining is seeking an energetic Computer Technician to join its IT team in Regina, Saskatchewan. The role supports the company’s underground mining and civil tunnelling projects across Canada, providing day‑to‑day technical assistance and ensuring reliable operation of both on‑premise and cloud‑based systems.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for IT operations, networking, cloud services, mobile devices, cabling, hardware and software issues.
• Install, configure, test and deploy hardware and software across offices and remote mine sites.
• Monitor and maintain computer systems, servers and network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose system problems, documenting resolutions and procedures.
• Assist staff with setup and issue resolution for PCs, laptops, mobile devices and peripheral equipment.
• Identify and propose more efficient ways to perform IT tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of technical support experience in a mixed Windows and cloud environment.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and travel periodically to remote sites.
• Relevant IT certifications or a technical diploma.
