Communications Assistant – Email Marketing (Student Position)

About the role

The Communications Assistant (Email Marketing) supports University Advancement’s email outreach to alumni and donors. Working under a supervisor, the student will help plan, build, test, and launch email campaigns that engage the McGill community.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the broadcast calendar and request queue for email communications.
• Build, review, and test email content for various campaigns.
• Prepare audience segments and select data in the Iris CRM according to campaign specifications.
• Set up, test, and maintain automation journeys and data extensions in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Track email performance metrics and contribute to regular reporting.
• Assist with training, troubleshooting, and documentation for broadcast users.

Required profile

• Current McGill undergraduate student with interest in communications, marketing, or digital media.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.
• Effective written communication skills in English.
