Communications Advisor

About the role

The Communications Advisor supports caisse managers in designing, applying and monitoring communication solutions for members, clients and community partners. This 14‑month fixed‑term position is part of the Desjardins Group and focuses on maintaining a positive brand image while delivering effective communication programs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the annual communications plan with the management committee within the allocated budget.
• Advise managers on communication activities for various client segments, community organisations, officers and employees.
• Identify potential risk situations, safeguard the caisse’s image and inform the general manager and partners.
• Monitor service‑quality initiatives such as surveys and complaints.
• Analyse sponsorship, donation and fundraising requests, make recommendations and follow up on contributions.
• Assist in producing the social‑responsibility report and the annual report.
• Select and ensure the quality of communication tools (letters, mass mailings, internal newsletters).
• Support business‑relationship building with client groups and community organisations.
• Organise events, manage social‑media content and ensure consistent community interaction.
• Coordinate ad placement, merchandising proposals and promotional material orders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• At least one year of relevant communication experience (other combinations may be considered).
• Fluent French with strong spelling and grammar skills.
• Knowledge of Desjardins products, services, distribution networks and competitor offerings.
• Understanding of the external environment and communication/advertising methods.
