Commercial Cleaner – Active Pool

About the role

Black & McDonald is expanding its Northern Ontario team and seeks reliable Commercial Cleaners for an active pool of assignments. The role involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across various facilities, with both routine and deep‑cleaning tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and waste removal.
• Complete deep‑cleaning tasks including interior/exterior window washing, wall and ceiling cleaning, and overhead light maintenance.
• Sanitize restrooms, kitchens, high‑touch surfaces and replenish dispensers as needed.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely, manage exterior upkeep, and respond to emergency cleaning requests.
• Document hazards, maintenance issues and complete required paperwork.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (mandatory).
• Physical capability to lift 50 lb, work overhead, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
• Reliability, attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial cleaning equipment.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as N90 masks, half‑mask respirators, rubber gloves and disposable coveralls.
