Co-op Researcher - Video Generation & 3D Computer Vision

About the role

Huawei Canada is offering an 8‑12 month co‑op position for a researcher focused on video generation and 3D computer vision. The role is part of the Noah’s Ark Laboratory, a research hub that drives AI innovations across multiple domains.

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop state‑of‑the‑art computer‑vision and machine‑learning technologies.
• Design and implement video and image understanding or synthesis solutions using deep‑learning frameworks.
• Optimize algorithms and models for mobile‑computing constraints.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. program in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience applying machine‑learning or computer‑vision techniques to real‑world problems.
• Solid grasp of fundamental computer‑vision concepts.
• Academic research experience, such as paper publications, is a plus.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Proficiency with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• OpenCV library.
• Mobile‑app development experience.
• Familiarity with photo‑editing tools (e.g., Photoshop).
• Experience with image/video generation AI models (e.g., Stable Diffusion, Flux).

What we offer

• Target annual compensation ranging from $58,000 to $104,000 CAD, based on education, experience and demonstrated expertise.
