About the role
Huawei Canada offers an 8‑16 month co‑op position focused on research and development of cutting‑edge computer vision and machine learning technologies. The role involves tackling video and image understanding and synthesis challenges while accounting for mobile computing constraints.
Key responsibilities
- Research and develop state‑of‑the‑art technology in computer vision and machine learning.
- Work on various video/image understanding and synthesis tasks using deep learning techniques.
- Optimize algorithms and models for mobile computing environments.
Required profile
- Experience applying machine learning or computer vision to real‑world problems.
- Ability to grasp basic computer vision concepts and techniques.
- Academic research experience, such as participation in paper publishing (asset).
Required skills
- Python
- PyTorch or TensorFlow
- OpenCV
- Mobile app development
- Photo editing tools (e.g., Photoshop)
- Image/video generation AI (e.g., Stable Diffusion, Flux)
