Co-op Researcher in Advanced Wireless AI

About the role

Huawei Canada’s Advanced Wireless Technology Lab is seeking a co‑op researcher to advance reinforcement‑learning solutions for large‑scale graph‑structured optimization and complex scheduling problems. You will work alongside graduate engineers and scientists to push the boundaries of AI‑driven wireless technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced reinforcement‑learning algorithms for large‑scale optimization tasks.
• Enable Large Language Models (LLMs) to learn from interaction and environment feedback for continual self‑improvement.
• Prototype, implement, and integrate research ideas into proof‑of‑concept demonstrations.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest AI literature and high‑performance computing advances.
• Contribute to scientific publications and collaborate closely with the research team.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a PhD or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong theoretical background in advanced reinforcement learning (agentic RL, multi‑agent RL, Meta‑RL).
• Familiarity with LLMs or generative AI methods and their integration into decision‑making systems.
• Excellent communication skills, self‑motivation, and attention to detail.
