Co-op Engineer – Distributed Agent System

About the role

The Distributed Scheduling and Data Engine Lab at Huawei Canada is looking for a co‑op engineer to contribute to AI‑native cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with architects and engineers to build proof‑of‑concept systems and enhance data platforms used for cloud capacity management.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and engineers to develop proof‑of‑concept systems and product components for AI‑native cloud infrastructure.
• Investigate and design data structures and algorithms for distributed resource scheduling, capacity optimization, and workload placement on modern cloud hardware.
• Continuously enhance the data system used for public cloud capacity management and scheduling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. studies in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• High proficiency in Go or Rust with the ability to write clean, maintainable code from scratch.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, object‑oriented design, and operating systems.
• Analytical mindset, self‑motivation, and ability to learn quickly.
