Cloud Systems Administrator

About the role

Empire Life is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to join its Technical Infrastructure team. This remote position supports hybrid IT environments, managing both on‑premise and multi‑cloud (Azure and Google Cloud Platform) resources while driving automation, scalability, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure components (VMs, storage, networks) across Azure and GCP.
• Develop and maintain modular Terraform scripts for Infrastructure as Code.
• Automate software deployment and configuration using Ansible.
• Create and enforce Policy as Code (e.g., Terraform Sentinel, OPA/Rego, Azure Policy) to meet security and budget requirements.
• Integrate policy scanning into CI/CD pipelines for automated compliance.
• Monitor multi‑cloud performance with Azure Monitor and Google Cloud Observability, troubleshoot issues, and implement automated scaling.
• Provide Tier 2 technical support for cloud‑related incidents.

Required profile

• Works under general supervision of the Director, IT Cloud Transformation and Infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience with hybrid and multi‑cloud environments.
• Strong focus on automation, security, and cost‑effective cloud operations.
