Clinical Research Coordinator – Cardio‑Obstetrics Network

About the role
The University of British Columbia is establishing a pan‑Canadian Cardio‑Obstetrics network. The Clinical Research Coordinator will lead and support retrospective and prospective studies over the next five years, ensuring high‑quality clinical trial execution.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in planning, organizing and delivering clinical trials in line with study protocols and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Prepare and submit ethics applications, manage renewals and amendments.
- Develop tools such as source documents, checklists, case report forms and test worksheets.
- Provide study information and education to participants, administer questionnaires, and coordinate subject visits with multiple departments.
- Verify patient histories, obtain medical records, and communicate findings to physicians.
- Enter and manage data in paper and electronic case report form systems.
- Supervise research assistants, clerical staff and students, and report progress to investigators.
Required profile
- Experience in clinical trial coordination or related research support.
- Strong understanding of GCP and ethics submission processes.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinicians, nurses and research staff.
