Clinical Research Assistant – Parkinson’s Studies

About the role
The Pacific Parkinson’s Research Centre at UBC is seeking a full‑time Clinical Research Assistant to support multidisciplinary studies on Parkinson’s disease. You will work closely with investigators, graduate students and clinicians to recruit participants, collect data and help design experiments.
Key responsibilities
- Review electronic medical record (EMR) charts to identify eligible participants while maintaining confidentiality.
- Recruit and screen movement‑disorder patients by telephone and in‑person according to study criteria.
- Obtain informed consent and explain study procedures to participants.
- Conduct patient visits and collect data using non‑invasive brain stimulation, EEG, fMRI, wearable sensors and validated clinical scales.
- Perform clinical assessments such as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and the MDS‑UPDRS.
- Assist with ethics board applications and protocol amendments.
- Maintain detailed tracking logs and documentation of all study activities.
Required profile
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work respectfully with individuals living with Parkinson’s disease.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Capacity to collaborate with a diverse research team.
