Climate Change Coordinator

About the role

The Climate Change Coordinator provides administrative support to the Tŝilhqot’in Women’s Council and climate initiatives such as the Where the Waters Meet project. This part‑time, one‑year term role helps coordinate events, manage data, and assist with funding proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate climate‑change events, workshops and webinars, taking notes and preparing summaries.
• Prepare surveys, questionnaires and forms for community engagement.
• Maintain an organized database of tools, resources and knowledge for climate resilience.
• Contribute to drafting reports for the Where the Waters Meet project.
• Research new funding opportunities and make recommendations.
• Assist in preparing and submitting detailed grant proposals.
• Track funding allocation and utilization through detailed reports.
• Support project timelines and deliverables in collaboration with the supervisor.

Required profile

• Knowledge of Tŝilhqot’in culture, values and language.
• Complete working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Awareness of climate‑change issues and motivation to advance climate action.
• Related degree, diploma or certificate is an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
