Class 1 Air Brake Driver

About the role

D&W Forwarders Inc. is looking for an experienced driver to join its Grizzly Transport Ltd. unit in Hadashville, Manitoba. The company carries heavy building materials across Canada, with terminals in BC, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect loaded trucks for order accuracy, weight restrictions and secure loading, and verify loads
• Perform DOT-required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Inspect the delivery site and ensure it is safe to unload
• Maintain accurate records and keep the logbook up to date
• Report mechanical problems and hazards to the dispatcher, and communicate regularly with the office
• Handle property damage or personal injury incidents immediately, including calling for medical attention
• Provide quality service to customers and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Valid, current Class 1 driver's licence with Air Brake endorsement, in good standing
• Clean motor vehicle record
• At least 2 years of driving experience with an air brake endorsement
• Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds and stand for long periods
• Off-road driving experience
• English reading, speaking and writing ability
