Child Caregiver – Private Home

About the role

We are seeking a reliable child caregiver to assume full responsibility for household duties and child supervision in a private home in Calgary. The position is permanent, full‑time, and includes evening, day, weekend, and overtime options.

Key responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility for the household when parents are absent, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
• Perform light housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, ironing, and pressing of clothing and linens.
• Shop for food and household supplies, and prepare nutritious meals for children.
• Travel with the family on trips, assisting with child supervision and housekeeping duties.
• Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children, and prepare them for rest periods.
• Discipline children according to parents' requested methods and maintain daily activity and health records.
• Organize games, outings, and other activities to support children’s emotional well‑being.
• Transport children to and from school, appointments, and extracurricular activities.
• Provide care for foster children as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, health information, and any incidents.

Required profile

• Flexibility, organization, and reliability.
• 1 to less than 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work evenings, days, weekends, and overtime.
• Commitment to creating a welcoming environment for newcomers, refugees, youth, and veterans.
