Child Caregiver – Private Home

About the role

This full‑time, permanent position supports a family in Toronto by providing comprehensive childcare and household assistance in the employer’s home. The caregiver will work flexible hours, including mornings and days, and may travel with the family as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Change diapers, sterilize bottles and prepare formula.
• Assume full responsibility for the household when parents are absent, including light housekeeping and cleaning.
• Shop for food and household supplies.
• Travel with the family, assisting with child supervision and housekeeping duties.
• Wash, iron and press clothing and linens.
• Bathe, dress and feed infants and children.
• Teach personal hygiene and support social development.
• Maintain a safe, healthy environment and organize games or outings.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and manage rest periods.
• Transport children to school, appointments and extracurricular activities.
• Attend to children’s emotional well‑being.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1 – < 7 months of childcare experience.
• Clear criminal record check.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Flexibility, initiative, good judgement, organization, reliability, time‑management, patience and honesty.
