Child Care Assistant

About the role

Living Prairie Childcare Inc. is seeking enthusiastic Child Care Assistants to join our infant and preschool programs in the Sage Creek area of Winnipeg. You will work in a play‑based centre that blends planned programming with emergent curriculum, supporting the growth and development of young children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, nurturing care for infants (up to 8 children per room) and preschoolers (up to 16 children per room).
• Implement daily activities that promote learning through play and exploration.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment in line with health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with lead teachers to observe and document each child’s progress.
• Communicate effectively with families about daily routines and any observations.

Required profile

• Willingness to obtain or maintain a Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
• Current or willingness to obtain First Aid & CPR certification.
• Completion of the online “Commit to Kids” training.
• Passion for early childhood education and a commitment to a play‑based approach.

Required skills

• First Aid & CPR certification (or ability to obtain).
