Casual Residential Support Worker

About the role

The Residential Support Worker provides direct support to individuals living in Kenora Supportive Housing and Safe Bed programs, promoting safety, independence and community involvement. The role involves twelve‑hour shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage and works as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide side‑by‑side support with daily living activities and skill development.
• Administer and document medication storage and delivery according to schedules.
• Monitor and update individual recovery and coordinated care plans.
• Ensure safety and security of residents during each shift.
• Coordinate with community services, plan meals, groceries and household maintenance.
• Maintain accurate client files and complete shift documentation using electronic scheduling software.

Required profile

• High School Diploma (minimum); diploma in social sciences or human services is an asset.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges or other vulnerable populations.
• Demonstrated empathy, patience and ability to manage conflict and crisis situations.
• Valid driver’s licence and basic computer proficiency.
