Casual Liquor Store Clerk – Part‑Time (PEI)

About the role

The PEI Liquor Control Commission is seeking casual, part‑time clerks to work in its government‑run liquor stores. You will provide friendly customer service, handle cash transactions and help promote responsible alcohol consumption.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with purchases in a courteous manner.
• Balance cash float, operate the cash register and bank terminal.
• Process sales transactions accurately using a Point‑of‑Sale system.
• Scan or manually enter product codes, handle cash and card payments, make change and issue receipts.
• Bag items, maintain a clean and safe work area, and restock merchandise.
• Promote responsible consumption and adhere to provincial liquor regulations.
• Work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required profile

• Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Customer‑service experience and ability to operate a POS terminal.
• Physical ability to lift up to 20 kg and safely use hand/electric pallet jacks.
• Knowledge of the legislative framework governing PEI liquor retail (preferred).
