Cashier – Front Counter Attendant

About the role

The Front Counter Attendant, reporting to the Store Manager, will proactively attend to customer complaints in a professional manner. The role advises customers on food and beverage choices, making suggestions when necessary, and greets customers while discussing the type, quality, and quantity of merchandise or services required.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively address customer complaints with professionalism and tact.
• Advise customers on food and beverage selections and suggest appropriate options.
• Greet customers, discuss product details, and ensure satisfaction with issue resolution.
• Maintain high product and service knowledge, rotate stock, and manage inventory levels.
• Participate in merchandising, promotional activities, and store maintenance.
• Operate the POS system, process cash, credit, and automatic debit payments accurately.
• Answer and transfer external and internal phone calls.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.

• Maintain professionalism, diplomacy, and sensitivity in all customer interactions.
• Adapt communication style to effectively convey information to diverse individuals.
• Calm irate customers by explaining situations and seeking resolutions.
• Demonstrate strong product knowledge and the ability to assist with inventory management.
