About the role

Whitehill Homes LTD is seeking a skilled carpenter to join its construction team in Calgary. This full‑time permanent position involves working on a variety of residential and commercial projects, ensuring high‑quality craftsmanship from foundation to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub‑flooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Schedule and coordinate work on site, supervise other workers.
• Survey building locations and levels, estimate costs and material needs.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings.

Required profile

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of carpentry experience.
• Willingness to work flexible hours on construction sites.
