Career Development Manager

About the role

The University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus is seeking a Manager of Career Development to lead its Academic & Career Development team. Reporting to the Director, the role provides strategic and operational leadership for career services that prepare students for successful careers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for career development programs and services on and off campus.
• Represent the Director in meetings with campus partners, community groups, alumni, and external employers.
• Lead and mentor a team of career development professionals and student staff.
• Develop and implement comprehensive approaches to enhance student leadership, professional capacity, and career readiness.
• Build and sustain relationships with faculties, alumni, student unions, and experiential learning units to create meaningful connections between students, alumni, and employers.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in leading career services or related student development programs.
• Strong understanding of higher‑education environments and cooperative education, internships, and experiential learning.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to develop and manage strategic initiatives and supervise staff.
