Cardiologist (Part‑time, Contract)

About the role

The Ottawa Cardiovascular Centre seeks a part‑time contract cardiologist to join its private practice team. You will diagnose, treat and manage cardiovascular conditions, providing expert care to a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose cardiovascular diseases and physiological disorders.
• Prescribe medication, develop treatment plans and refer patients for surgery.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, X‑rays and other diagnostic procedures.
• Act as a consultant to other physicians, offering specialist advice.

Required profile

• Medical degree with licensure (LMCC) and certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
• Specialty residency training in Cardiology and provincial/territorial licensure.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Clinical expertise in cardiology, including diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Proficiency in ordering and interpreting laboratory and imaging studies.
